My current employer has some scholarships for potential students for the Master of Software Engineering program with the Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Coimbra – Portugal.
Successful candidates will be paid a 15000€ allowance for living fee’s in Portugal, full tuition paid, and a permanent position with my company.

Scrum Workshop from CMU and UC.pt

The Carnegie Mellon University Portugal Programme will be organizing a workshop about the Scrum methodology on December 18, 2008.
This workshop will also show the Master in Software Engineering programme which is given in a partnership between Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Coimbra.

Com a bolsa de Lisboa a caminhar para terminar o ano com o pior desempenho de sempre, há uma empresa portuguesa que escapa a este sentimento negativo e acumula uma valorização superior a 34%. A descontinuação da área de mobilidade e o foco no negócio “core”, bem como os bons resultados operacionais apresentados, são alguns dos factores apontados pelos analistas para o bom desempenho da Novabase.
“O título beneficiou de ter atingido um nível demasiado baixo, ainda antes da crise, e da empresa se ter focado no seu negócio ‘core’”, adiantou ao Negócios um analista, que preferiu não ser identificado.
No início do ano, a tecnológica liderada por Rogério Carapuça descontinuou o negócio de mobilidade, uma medida que foi aplaudida pelo mercado. “A área de mobilidade não estava a ter as margens desejadas e estava a empurrar as margens globais para baixo”, realçou o mesmo responsável.
Já outro analista, que também pediu anonimato, realçou que a empresa “tem beneficiado da saída de ‘players’ internacionais do mercado nacional e tem conquistado quota de mercado”, apesar do ambiente macroeconómico difícil. O especialista salienta ainda o balanço “sólido” da companhia e o facto de ser “uma empresa que não tem dívida” como factores que têm impulsionado as acções.

Well guys, this year has been quite good for me..
During my last job I got the chance to work at Portugal’s largest mobile operator, TMN, and I was relocated to Marocco for one month, on a Bandwidth Control project.
Although I wasn’t thinking about leaving PTInovação, I recieved a job offer from Lisbon. One of Portugal’s top consultancy firms, which plays head to head with Accenture and Deloitte in both national and international markets, gave me an offer I couldn’t refuse, and I didn’t.
So here I am, at Novabase ACD, over-looking the Lisbon Casino and the Tejo River from my desk. This is prime real-estate. Simply one of the best places to work in Lisbon.
